Besikdüzü Urban Design ( Housing + Public Space ) ( with Gökhan Semiz )( tutor assoc. prof. Dilek Şen Beyazlı )

Besikdüzü housing site is designed within 2 zones;

1. Housing platforms which are located by following the topography lines.

2. Public courtyard which is placed in the middle of housing blocks to provide accessibility.

The main idea in the section scheme is to minimize carriageways and dominate pedestrian circulation by sticking platforms and gaining continuation by connecting them to bridges which are crossing roadway through public area.

Gözaçan Mosque , Architectural design project , studio-7 ( Tutorsassoc.prof.Ömer İskender Tuluk , assist. Şöhret Şen)

Design site is located at a dense building area and a corner.

The main idea in this design is to approach an emptiness to make area more spacious. This emptiness is obtained by caving a dome shape form rectangular parallelepiped. External dome provides an image for mosques which is inspired by classical ottoman mosques and covers the semi open courtyard, entrance.

Ground floor consists of service spaces, cafeteria and course while the rest of the building provides main praying areas.
