Seen from kms away and being at top of one dominant peak, this location would be a place to exhibit one high building. As the site not giving much context but topographical challanges and a decent green envoriment, these two data formed the main idea: green verticality. By sustaining the greenery throught up levels step by step the project emphasises the green continuation at vertical dimension. Since the tower program doesn’t include much more squaremeters the base of tower shaped by earth’s itself and the upper parts are consist of the functional spaces.
The challenge at this design site is how to design an elementary school at the most crowded pulbic space of a city. So we used this problem as a value. The idea here is to design an elementary school integrated to public space. The building obtains free circulation to public at the ground floor while sinking down the playground for students. So there can be a visual connections between public and students while there is no pysical connection. While the box modules at the ground floor level are in use for public(except school circulation module) the other modules at upper levers for the school usage.
Besikdüzü housing site is designed within 2 zones;
1.Housing platforms which are located by following the topography lines.
2.Public courtyard which is placed in the middle of housing blocks to provide accessibility.
The main idea in the section scheme is to minimize carriageways and dominate pedestrian circulation by sticking platforms and gaining continuation by connecting them to bridges which are crossing roadway through public area.
